Tadashi has trained in a special ninja school since the age of eight and he graduated in the top 90th percentile. He's a very competent fighter when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, but is looking to improve his swordsmanship.
Diligently in search of a lifelong companion, Tadashi came to America for his woman-hunting because he finds the huge variety of women there irresistable. However, his techniques need some honing. Tadashi roams the streets searching out crime as a vigilante, and when he's lucky enough to find and rescue a damsel in distress, he asks them out on a date.
Tadashi meets his match when he runs into Alec, a chivalrous knight from the 14th century, who is also wandering the city fighting crime. Naturally, ninjas and knights are mortal enemies, and when Tadashi sees him as competition in the dating pool, things get out of hand.

On the third page of Culture Shock we see Tadashi do both the things he loves... fighting and flirting. His self-proclaimed "foot of justice" is really the "foot of love". Poor Tadashi isn't good at catchy phrases.
There's not a whole lot of history on Tadashi. But when I created the concept of East vs. West in comic form, I decided that the ultimate fighting East stereotype is a ninja. Several sketches eventually led to the one you see here.
